Egmont Honey - Honey burgers
Where are the burger lovers at? This sweet and spicy burger has everything you need to satisfy your cravings. Did we mention it’s truly delicious?

Ingredients – serves 2
Burger Ingredients:
1 x tablespoon Egmont Honey
500g lean ground beef (5% works best)
1/2 cup diced red onion
Salt and pepper
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp. freshly minced ginger
1 large egg
½ cup breadcrumbs
Pinch smoked paprika
Pinch chilli flakes
Pinch Oregano

Honey capsicum & onions:
1 x tablespoon Egmont Honey
1 x red capsicum thinly sliced
½ sliced red onion
Pinch cumin
Salt and Pepper
To serve:
Hummus of your choice (beetroot works really well)
1 x cup mixed leaves
1 x cup mozzarella
Sriracha mayo
Sprouts
Instructions
- Firstly, combine all burger ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Mix until JUST combined to prevent tough burgers.
- Measure out your burgers and shape. Set aside.
- Oil a small frying pan and add capsicum, onion, cumin and salt/ pepper to a pan and sauté until browned. After about 3 minutes, add the honey and sauté until caramelised and sticky.
- Next, cook burger patties over medium-high heat until cooked through.
- Once cooked, add heaped grated mozzarella to the burger patty and pop under a hot grill until the cheese melts.
- Assembly. Add hummus to the bottom of the bun. From there layer salad leaves, burger, onion and capsicum mix, sprouts and top of the burger bun drizzled with sriracha mayo.
- Serve immediately.
